Clearwater Crystal is a natural formulation of bacteria, enzymes and buffers contained in a water – soluble sachet. Some of the species of bacteria in Clearwater Crystal use the nitrates and phosphates that stimulate heavy algal growth as their own food source, starving the algae and reducing algal growth. The remaining species break down the organic solids from fish and waterfowl excreta and decaying plant material that results in cloudy water, sludge build – up and foul odours.
Clearwater Crystal is harmless to pond animal life and to rooted plants. The microbes in Clearwater Crystal help to break down the toxic ammonia and nitrite compounds that accumulate in ponds with a large fish or waterfowl population, the use of Clearwater Crystal can create a less stressful environment for aquatic animal life.
Clearwater Crystal comes in hydro-soluble sachets making them simple to apply to any watercourse. The user simply throws the sachets directly into the water on a weekly basis throughout Spring, Summer and Autumn.
