What are the problems that can occur?
Typically, algae can prove a recurring problem as well as excessive
growth of introduced weed species with some alien species badly
de-oxygenating the body of water - rapidly killing fish and all
visible aquatic life e.g. Canadian pond weed problems. These problems
may be exacerbated by hot dry summers and wet warm winters. See
algae control.
How do Clearwater proceed?
We inspect, discuss and offer a contract of
works with an estimate free of charge for all reasonable sized pond,
lake and reservoir jobs in mainland Britain.
How do we approach the problem?
The problem is attacked
at root cause, with a combination of hands on clearance and longer
term natural methods that clean the body of water, attracting back
pondlife e.g. fish, newts, many inverterbrates. The programme is
usually managed as required to effect a satisfactory result without
the use of polluting or otherwise unfriendly agents.
What are the benefits of managing this problem?
A beautiful asset is returned
to its natural glory! The whole area teems with beneficial wildlife
whilst indigenous and less invasive species are allowed a foothold.
